Zero no Tsukaima or as its know in its american tittle 'Familiar of Zero' follows the everyday life of mage, and second year student at Tristain Academy 'Louise Francoise Le Blanc de La Valliere' and her very special familiar Japanese boy 'Saito Hiraga'. This anime is definitely one of my top ten favorite anime and a recommend this to everyone. The characters are lovable and unforgettable plus the world feels rear it feels like it could exist and when a anime accomplishes that its worth everyone to give it a shot. Zero no Tsukaima is a comedy/romance/action/harem anime set in a fantasy world. There's magic, royal family's, creatures, and more.

An anime about criminals, obviously enough, but the way it's executed is amazing. It doesn't try to be gentle with its ideas about social rejects, gang members, and prostitutes. Funnily enough, all three of our characters fall into this category, Nick, Worick, and Alex. Nick is a 'Tag', the child of someone who took a special drug, and now has a disability, but more than makes up for it. Worick, a gigolo, and I can say nothing more. Alex, an ex-prostitute, who fell pretty damn hard.
It seems simple when you start off, but then the plot thickens, and thickens, and thickens. The characters seem very simple at the start, but very quickly get complex. As a whole, this plot is curvier than Kim Kardashian, but way smarter. If I reveal anything about this story, it kinda ruins the point of having plot twists, dunnit'? Unfortunately, the company that was animating Gangsta went bankrupt, and we shall not see a continuation of this anime. However, the manga is still going strong. I recommend you watch and read. -Vie Ao No Exorcist is about Satan's son, no spoilers there it's revealed early on, Rin. Rin is the older twin to Yukio, who received none of Satan's powers. After Rin's adoptive father dies, he makes it his mission to kill Satan. He goes to True Cross Academy, run by Mephisto (Faust anyone?) and has to hide the fact that he's related to a demon, much less Satan, with whom someone in his class has some major beef with.
I was generally entertained by this anime, it did however, have some very annoying moments (and one or two whole episodes). Personally, I liked it a lot that the characters didn't always get what they wanted, nor did they get into a huge rut about it. One thing (SPOILERS AHEAD) that pissed me off to no end was that it took Rin entire episodes to learn to control his flames better, but Yukio had it down after ONE try (Granted, he was possessed by the Devil). I guess I'll wait until season two finishes to say anything about it, but I am pretty darn hooked, so it had better live up to expectations. -Vie Super Lovers is mainly about Haru and his adopted brother Ren, a small, rash, anti-social boy that in some ways was raised by wolves, in their new found life together. I found the anime, in one word interesting, but for someone that isn't big on Shounen Ai (BOY LOVE) or in older and younger male relationships, I would not suggest watching this.
I found it interesting mainly because 1)-I'm a hopeless romantic and this anime is one of those classic shounen ai's, that even if it's slightly cringey here and there, makes you kinda happy (Unless your a heartless bastard or someone who's not big on BoyxBoy. NUTTYTHREAD) 2) It's not like the anime that I will never name no matter what (boku no pico) and full of basic yaoi hentai, basic bitches. And lastly 3) I like the concept of the anime because I'm a simpleton, and I really like the way Ren's character was portrayed. -JokerK A rough synopsis of Drifters is a classic battle of good versus evil, but it has some (read: a lot) of flair to it. The battle is between Murasaki and HAPPY , even though our three main characters are Toyohisa, Nobunaga, and Yoichi, if you are a well-read historian you will know that these are all REAL people. All of the heroes (Drifters) and villains (Ends) are real people. There is a slight difference (possible spoiler), the Ends seem to be taken by HAPPY after their death and hold deep resentment towards humanity. The Ends also have powers. Drifters, however, seem to be taken after being mortally wounded, and don't seem to have any powers aside from their combat skills and willpower. The first season of Drifters ended on a cliffy, to my utter despair, but we have been promised a second season, although we don't know when yet. I'm already super hyped. The main point, without getting into spoilers is: Watch Drifters, it's super good to almost everyone (except Nuttythread, who has no taste apparently). You won't guess who the first Drifter is, but I was really surprised by it. Lastly, to just get some thoughts about it out, and with some spoilers and speculation, I will say three to five things. One, I and quite a few others believe that Joan of Arc will switch sides and become a Drifter, my reasoning is the intro, she is the only End that gets an intro with the Drifters and separated from the other Ends. Two, Kanno (the Japanese WW2 pilot) does not get any battle time aside from his intro. I was honestly super disappointed, but I can't do anything. Three, Scipio and Barca are not reunited. Four, the Black King is quite possibly Jesus, there are some pretty heavy-handed hints, (Crucifixion scars, Really?) and The Black King, and I'm paraphrasing, 'I tried to save all of the humans once, and they betrayed me, so I will save the non-humans'. And Five, this is random, but the Elves aren't speaking Japanese, or any other language. This is not a summary, it is called a 'review' for a reason. -Vie BTW... |
